How can I make split payments?
This applies to all credit card payments, i.e.:
The website www.amendes.gouv.fr;
The Amendes.gouv application available on Google Play or the App Store;
By telephone on 0806 20 30 40 (no surcharge).
Making a split payment
You can pay in several instalments using the same online payment number shown on the payment instructions (orange sheet). Each time you make a payment, a summary of payments already made and the amount still to be paid will be shown.
NOTE:
once the split payment process has begun, it is no longer possible to appeal or make a deposit.
The first partial payment must be made within 60 days of the date of the notice. As a reminder, the full amount of the fine must be paid within the statutory time limits.
If you do not pay the full fine at the reduced* rate within the period for which this reduced amount is valid, it will then change to the flat rate* and you will have to pay the outstanding amount.
If you do not pay the full amount of the fixed rate fine within the period for which this amount is valid, then the fine will be increased by the outstanding amount (you will receive notice of the increased fine by post at the address on your vehicle registration certificate).
