What is a post-parking fee?

The Post-Parking Fee ("forfait de post-stationnement" or "FPS") is a charge for parking on public roads, introduced by a large number of municipalities in 2018.
It should not be confused with fines for dangerous, obstructive, very obstructive or illegal parking.

The post-parking fee applies if:

  • you parked your vehicle without paying for parking;

  • you exceed the parking time you paid for.

Payment deadline:

You must pay the post-parking fee within 3 months of the date shown on the payment notice.This notice is left on your windscreen or sent to you by email or post, and specifies the amount and terms of payment, as well as how to appeal.

Some municipalities may reduce the amount if you pay promptly. After a three-month period, the amount will go up and you will receive an increased post-parking fee.
