Designate another driver
You received a fixed penalty notice, but were not the person driving the vehicle at the time of the offence?
One of two situations may apply:
The vehicle is co-owned with another person (e.g. a spouse);
The vehicle was loaned or hired out to a third party (e.g. friend, colleague, etc.)
In both situations, you must not pay the fine, as you risk being held liable for the offence.
You must designate the correct driver through the appropriate appeal procedure for your situation.
